Technical Project Manager

Chive Media Group is looking for a driven Project Manager to join our development team. In true startup style, you’ll be working hand in hand with our developers and designers to craft the next generation of revolutionary entertainment products. Your focus will be on our most exciting products, including theCHIVE.com (the #1 humor site in the country) & theCHIVE native mobile apps, the award-winning Chive TV, and Atmosphere - our latest venture into the DOOH/OTT space! This is truly a hands-on role where you’ll get to control product development from the ground up. This position will be based in Austin, Texas and reporting to the Director of Product.

Job Description

  • Gather stakeholder requirements and ensure timely delivery to match business goals
  • Help define and prioritize our product roadmaps across all of our offerings
  • Work with designers to not only fulfill business needs, but to respect our users’ wants/desires while increasing engagement and optimizing user retention
  • Perform customer and competitive research
  • Communicate with differing groups across the organization for feature gathering, QA, and feedback
  • Conduct competitive analysis and research to keep us on top of industry trends
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate directly with development teams to deliver the product roadmaps
  • Participate and drive daily stand-ups, post mortem, with our development team
  • Manage relationships with and research new third party vendors

Requirements

  • You make data-driven decisions and aren’t afraid to dive into spreadsheets from time to time
  • You have a keen eye for detail which will be applied to every step of the development process including gathering requirements, writing documentation, and approving development work
  • You understand UX and how design can shape users’ behavior
  • You have a constant eye on user engagement metrics, and know how to shift your product roadmap to best optimize for them
  • You are a problem solver and can think on the fly - we’re a fast-paced organization and you’ll be working with the best and brightest
  • You have an interest in websites, native mobile apps, and OTT apps
  • You have experience at a consumer internet company; ideally in the media or entertainment space
  • You constantly have new ideas and want to craft something truly unique that you can own
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • You live and breathe JIRA & Scrum/Agile development
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: Wordpress, Confluence, Google Analytics, iOS, Android
